XP Logon to Server 2003 Slow by speedunlimited7 on September 08th, 2005 07:16:43 PM You need to update the XP machines to SP2. There was a hotfix addressed to fix just the log in delays. If you search microsoft.com you should be able to find it. I have it here, so when I find it, I'll post it for you as well. |
XP Logon to Server 2003 Slow by winfryd3 on September 15th, 2005 02:42:57 PM All stations in the AD domain need to have valid DNS entry's as also the server itself. This can cause the delay. 98 & ME are pre w2000 systems and do not check network conditions. |

Re: XP Logon to Server 2003 Slow by maristar210 on April 18th, 2006 02:38:35 PM I've had this issue since the phone company install a VOIP system at my clients Office. Instead of suppling DHCP and DNS from the Domain controller it is being done by the Phone systems server. This has caused long delays at logon with wp-pro workstations and issues resolving IP and Names. I've investgated and made changes that have made it worse. I can no longer send e-mail from the exchange server and get internet from the domain controller with out adding an external dns record in the network card set up. Please help. Thanks |
