While Initializing Device VKD: Windows Protection ErrorConfiguration:
I've realized that the problem is not with the keyboard, even though the error message says it is. I\'ve realized that this error message only appears at startup right after Windows has improperly shut down, but the only way to get rid of it as I know of is to unplug the hard drive and then boot up, and then plug it back in after I shut down. I need to know a way to fix it for good. When I start up after Windows has improperly shut down, Scandisk is supposed to run, but instead I get the startup menu which is unusual. I\'ve tried starting up in both safe mode and normal mode, but the protection error message pops up soon after eitherway, and then the computer freezes until I manually restart. This happens during every bootup after Windows has shutdown improperly. Someone PLEASE let me know how to fix this so it wont happen again!!!!!! Operating System : Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition

I fixed it. I connected the hard drive to another computer as the master alone, and I booted up, and Scandisk ran great when I hooked the hard drive to another computer. I let Scandisk finish, and when the computer finished booting up, I shut down, and took the hard drive out and put it back in the original computer. I booted up, and I had no problem since Scandisk ran on this hard drive on the other computer at startup. When it booted up, I got to thinking, and I remembered "msconfig," so I went to the "start menu" clicked "Run..." and typed in "msconfig" and clicked 'ok'. When msconfig popped up, I clicked the "Advanced..." button at the bottom of the 'general' tab. When I clicked 'Advanced...', I check marked the box for "Disable Scandisk after bad shutdown." Then I clicked 'OK' on that box, 'Apply(if possible)' and 'OK' on the next box. Then it prompted me to restart. I restarted, and I never had this problem again.
