FOLDER OPTIONS COMMAND MISSINGConfiguration:
Installed win98 1st edition. All is well. Installed MS Office 2000 pro. All is well. Clicked open MS OUTLOOK nad went through OUTLOOK setup wizard. After completing the wizard the START/SETTINGS/FOLDER OPTIONS command was gone from the menu. FOLDER OPTIONS is also normally available in MY-COMPUTER/VIEW menu. It also vanishes from this menu at the same time. All other commands in all other menus are where they should be. The computer seems to be working normally. I reformatted and reloaded several times, and I have the same problem with both WIN98 and WIN98SE. Can anyone tell me how to restore the FOLDER OPTIONS command. Thanks, Operating System : WINDOWS 98

Use Tools > Folder Options instead. This happens after your IE gets updated when you install Office 2000 or some later version.
You can also access them from your Control Panel :)

Figured it out myself after my last posting yesterday.

1. Go to "Start" then "Run" and type: regedit
2. Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
3. Double click "NoFolderOptions" and change the Value data to "0".

Let me know if this works.

You probably have the Brontok virus on your machine. No need to format your computer. I had the same problem, but can't remember which tool I used to remove it.

You may want to view this forum for discussions on the Brontok virus. They suggest tools and ways to remove it: http://permagnus.com/2005/10/16/brontoks/

Cheers, and greetings from Nepal !
