| Win98/ XP double booting problem | Configuration: |
I had a dual operating system of Win98 and XP which was working fine till now. Unfortunately, Win98 got corrupted and I had to format the 'C' drive and reinstall win98. Now my system goes directly into Windows 98 without the boot screen at startup. Can somebody please help and tell me how to get the boot screen at startup.
Additional Comments:
I also tried the repair option in XP setup but that too failed

Help, i dont know why my computer keeps shutting down.After it shuts down i cant turn it on again,i must wait a while before the computer can start functioning |

when ever i switch on my compaq laptop, a thin line is appearing on the middle of the screen.
how can i get rid of this problem |

You need the following lines added to the the boot.ini file in the root directory of you boot drive(c:) i have win98se/xp on my computer and i did the same thing

timeout=30
default=C:\
[operating systems]
C:\="Microsoft Windows 98"
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect |
