Windows 95 prompting C: while restarting my systemConfiguration:
I am facing the one strange problem. When i restart my system (windows 95), i m getting the "C:\" dos prompt after gettting "windows 95" screen. I am not sure how i am getting this prompt and not able to move forward afterthat. Previously i was getting the user login screen.
Also when i use the dir command on C: prompt to list the directory, i m getting all the directory and files names with special characters.

Please help me to solve this problem.

Anonymous Ghost, thanks for your quick help.But I am not able to get the Windows screen itself, so not able to do any mouse activity and when i use "dir" command in dos prompt,i amd not getting the dosstart.bat file. Also when i am starting the windows 95 in safe mode, it is giving the C prompt in dos mode and throwing the message windows is bypassing your startup files.

Please help me.

Actally, I don't know if anon.guest is give you correct direction. If yes, then open file dosstart.bat from command prompt.
You must type: C:\type dosstart.bat
OR (recomended): C:\edit dosstart.bat

+ first you need to locate file.
Use, for example, C:\find /i "dosstart.bat"

Then go to directory containing this file.

Use C:\cd windows , then C:\cd system , e.t.c. (example).

[I have not this file in win 98]

Type Copy c:\MSDOS.SYS C:\MSDOSSYS.OLD
Type Edit.
File-->Open--MSdos.sys.
Set BOOTGUI=1. if it is 0.
I think it may solves.
