Windows wont start!!!Configuration:
I restarted my computer one night after it froze up, and a black screen came up saying that Windows cannot continue loading because win.com was missing or corrupt or something like that. It also said something about oakcdrom and config.sys and an error was on line 9. Help!!! I'm about to start school next week!!! I need my computer!!! Operating System : Microsoft Windows 98
CPU/Processor : Hewlitt Packard

No need to worry buddy. just start the system using a bootable floppy and run the windows setup again. everything will be fine.
all programs will remain installed etc. no data loss. so just go ahead and do it :)

i turned my computer off after i had done a Registry cleanup cause thats what it saud to do, and when i turned it on it took like a half our to load then it took another hour to start and then just the background shows up, then it takes about 20 min. for the icons to show up, the task bar never loads and the icons dont respond please help i am so confused, if you need to know i am using Windows XP home addition.
