Re: Downloader.Swizzor Problem by jam14o on April 11th, 2004 08:35:48 PM Follow the instructions on this page and try to remove the infected files with AVG again. If it works, remember to enable System Restore afterwards.

Re: Downloader.Swizzor Problem by on April 11th, 2004 09:41:45 PM I tried what that page that you gave me said but once I rebooted I scanned with AVG again and it said there was no viruses but I know that it is still there because during the scan a Trojan Horse warning popped up on the screen saying that the Downloader.Swizzor was on my computer. I scanned with Spybot Search and Destroy and it didn't find anything. I still can't get rid of it. Can someone give me another idea on how to get rid of this annoying virus.

Re: Downloader.Swizzor Problem by on April 12th, 2004 01:07:11 AM I tried what that site you just gave me said and it still isn't gone from the computer. When I scanned for viruses again with AVG during the scan the Trojan Horse pop up saying one was on your system came up again but the AVG test said that there was no virus. This virus is really getting on my nerves. Is there anything else that I could do to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Downloader.Swizzor Problem by jam14o on April 12th, 2004 01:19:56 AM Try booting into Safe Mode by tapping F8 while your computer is starting up. Then try using that page again. Read and follow the manual deletion instructions on that page. (above) If that fails, try downloading F-Prot Antivirus for DOS. Extract the files to c:fprot. Now boot up your PC with a Windows ME boot disk and start without CD-ROM support. Type cd fprot and press ENTER. Then type f-prot and press ENTER. The rest should be pretty straightforward.

Re: Downloader.Swizzor Problem by on April 12th, 2004 05:32:09 PM I think I have fixed the problem because the virus can't be found and it hasn't popped up with that trojan horse warning. Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Downloader.Swizzor Problem by Anonymous Ghost on September 25th, 2004 09:59:58 PM Can anybody think of a not too complicated way to get rid of Swizzor? If I check suspending system restore, I'm not sure how far back to go - or how - to a date before infection... |
