Wont go pass the Wondows XP boot ing pageConfiguration:
For a while my computer has been having issues. Countless amounts of pop-ups that don't show up on spyware or antivirus anything and then today my computer started acting up, running slow and then became unresponsive. I had to press down the button to shut it off. Now it won't even go pass the WindowsXP screen where its supposed to boot up and load the user screen. It sits there for about three minutes then goes back to the screen that says something about not being started then asks if I want to start windows normally, start in Safe Mode or to last know configurations. I'm tempted to start in safe mode. Should I?

Additional Comments:
I tried to change the boot up settings but I have no idea if its right. The first is set to boot from internal HDD the second is Cd rom I believe and the third is from the floppy. Is that right? Cause if it is its still not working.
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP
CPU/Processor : Dell Latitude CPi

the boot device order should ideally be: first device as floopy, next should be cd rom and third should be hdd.

no harm starting the system in safe mode...
