Could not load the DLL library.Configuration:
"Could not load the DLL library. The specified module could not be found."What the blank is this error message all about?! I can't install Yahoo! Messenger. And I KNOW this has something to do with either ; A) Roger's new softwareB) Norton's Internet Security 2005or C) Yahoo! Messenger itselfPersonally, I think it's because of the new Rogers software. Ever since I installed the Rogers Yahoo! Online Protection software my whole computer has been messed up.I've uninstalled, and reinstalled only like a million times. I've removed directories, played with my firewall settings (you know it, I've done it!) but I just can't get this to work.Any ideas? Operating System : Windows XP

Just an update.....I tried everything, but to no avail. So...when all else fails ; 1) Backup everything2) Format3) Reinstall. It wasn't pretty but I'm back up and running (no thanks to Yahoo!'s tech support). Oh well you get what you pay for, eh? ;)

I have been going through all of this, too. And I did follow yahoo's instructions on deleting the yahoo messenger from my C drive but that didn't help. Also, I don't have access to another ocmputer with yahoo messenger. Yahoo wanted to know if deleting the yahoo messenger from my Cdrive worked for downloading yahoo messenger so I told them it didn't work. That has been 5 days ago since the last email I sent to yahoo and I haven't heard back from them. I guess I have been put into their "we don't know what to do now" file.Carl

Yousaf,I had exactly the same problem and nothing I tried worked. Through sheer frustration, I decided to try one last thing and it worked like a dream !!! This WILL work for you as well - as long as you have access to another puter and it has yahoo messenger on it as well. I used my sons computer and went to "explore", found yahoo messenger, put the whole file onto disk and transferred it to my own computer where yahoo messenger was prior to it playing up, "right click on start, click explore,C:, Program Files - then cut and paste the yahoo file into the program files folder". Then go to the yahoo homepage and download the yahoo messenger again. It will tell you that you already have yahoo messenger installed on this computer - do you wish to continue - click yes. It will download messenger and vwallah !! You have now fixed the problem with messenger and you can have contact with your friends again ! Happy chatting !!Jett

PS. Ref my message above: More correctly, i should say that i had the same popup message as you, when trying to install Yahoo! Messenger. Never tried removing directories etc, until that help email arrived. So your problem might be different. In any case, this email from Yahoo! could be helpful for others.

Sir,i had exactly the same problem. However, i am not using Roger's or Norton. Browser is Opera. Asked help from Yahoo, and they sent me an email. Following their instructions, i have successfully installed the Yahoo! Messenger. Here are parts of that email:"Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Messenger. You may have a corrupt file in your Messenger directory. To fix the problem, you must manually delete the "Messenger" directory on your C: drive (default), then reinstall the Messenger program. 1. Close the Messenger program if you currently have it running, also please make sure all instances of Internet Explorer are closed. 2. Go to your desktop and double-click on "My Computer." 3. Click on "C:" drive. 4. Go to: - "C:Program FilesYahoo!" 5. Highlight the Messenger folder and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. (All archives will be deleted if they are not copied. Please see below.) The next step is to install: 1. Close all running programs except for your Internet browser. 2. Please visit the Messenger home page: - http://messenger.yahoo.com/ 3. Click the "Get it now" button. To copy your complete Message Archive: 1. Close Messenger (if it is currently running). 2. Go to your Desktop and double-click "My Computer." 3. Select the C: drive. 4. Go to: - "C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengerProfiles" 5. Your "Profiles" folder contains your complete Message Archive. Copy it to the same location on another machine if you wish to view it elsewhere. Please Note: If you copy this folder to another machine, your complete Message Archive will be copied, overriding the Message Archive on the machine to which you are copying. Please let us know if this does not solve the problem. We recommend that you upgrade to the current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you use Netscape or Mozilla Firefox as your browser, you don't have to switch to Internet Explorer, or even run Internet Explorer. However by upgrading to the current version of Internet Explorer it will offer you increased functionality and stability with the latest version of Messenger.Microsoft Internet Explorer is available as a free download and can be found at: - http://www.microsoft.com/windo... you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care."

That's the problem. ""Could not load the DLL library. The specified module could not be found" is the only message I get.I don't know what DLL it's referring to, nor do I have any leads from Google as he mentioned. I did do a Google search but the only relevant info. I was able to find was another user with the exact same problem, but no solution was posted.See : http://www.wackyb.com/zzub/ind...

"The specified module could not be found."Knowing the specified module name would narrow down Ed's search a lot.Bryan

try this - it really works. copy the whole yahoo! directory from some other computer (usually in C:\program files\yahoo!) to your program files directory. restart your comp and try installing - it works. gorav4u@yahoo.com
