I lost my volume control icon after an installation of SP2. I have found in my control panel an alternate means to adjust the system volume (creative labs software), but its not the same as having it right at the desktop. Is there a list of ways SP2 can disable/distort normally functioning computer software/hardware? If so lets link it, if not, lets start sending those emails to whysp2why@yahoo.com I will post after the first couple hundred. Keep them short, sweet, and to the point. I want a list not a help desk and would love to share.

There is no options in the start menu for the volume icon. Is there some other way to get the volume icon back?

Dale, take a look at your start menu. There you have the option to show the speaker icon or not. Leftclick on the icon turns mute on/off and a RIGHTCLICK on the icon will take you to the menu itself for adjustment.HTH.Ed in Texas.
