windows xpConfiguration:
It takes forever and a day for it to load anything. It did not used to be this way. I have run ad-aware and that does not help. I have deleted all files that i recently loaded and still nothing. Operating System : windows xp ver 2002, ser.pack 1
CPU/Processor : amd athlon
RAM : Actual:480 MB
Hard Disk : , Space: 40 GB
Partition Details : yes drive d has 4.23 operating system
with 62.3 mb free
drive c has 33.00 with 18.7 GB free

well thats strange. Run an anti-virus etc with latest definitions to be sure that you do not have W32.Blaster worm or its alike.
If you are totaly clean of viruses, then I think it will be better to take a backup of your data and format the system and re-install everything again.

i too had same prob on my dell 1700Mhz 80 Gig hd 384 MB ram ,( this also surfaced on 2 other dell computers 1 new hd fixed one mb got toasted )that had xp home; wiped hd,no fix,installed xp pro 2002 no fix scanned for virus with norton no fix ended up puting in new hd that fixed it
