Why so many svchost.exe?Configuration:
Why do I need so many svchost.exe processes running. There are like six of them and one is using about 30MB of memory. Operating System : Windows XP

It's an XP thing. It is a general service program that is used by a number of different processes. Nothing to worry about.I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

I had a virus before that was a pest and it was svchost.exe in the direct windows folder , what you have to do to make sure it aint that virus is to check if there is a file called SVCHOST.EXE in the C:Windows folder if theres one there its bad news , if its in its regular place (system 32 folder) then its fine

I think you mean scvhost.exe which relate to a variety of trojans and W32 virii.Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.

i have the svchost.exe in my windows folder, and my antispyware says it might b a trojan. how do i get rid of it?? i cant delete this file.
