| Oracle 8i on Windows XP Pro | Configuration: |

After installing Oracle 8i on Windows XP it starts the SQL prompt once with SCOTT username and TIGER password. The next time whenever I want to logon it gives me error "TNS protocol adapter error". Please provide me a step by step solution with the uninstalling procedure so that I can reinstall Oracle 8i.windows xp professional

The solution is more than I care to write. I did a search for "TNS protocol adapter error" tnsnames.ora is the suspected problem. Do a search it is easy enough but long winded. |

At the time of uninstalling oracle 8i a message orainst.exe missing is coming |

When I am installing oracle 8i on windows XP service pack 2 I am getting this error:
jrew.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close |
