| Saitek Keyboard install problem. | Configuration: |
|
I have a Saitek PZ08AU USB Gamers Keyboard, It has an additional programmable command pad connected to it for use during games. The keyboard works fine as a regular keyboard, but the command pad doesn't work anymore. For some reason, the reference to the device in device manager has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it (Indicating that there is a problem) I have tried removing the device and uninstalliung the programming software, then re-booted. Upon bootup, windows recognises it as a Saitek Gamer's Keyboard and then a box pops up saying:Found New Hardware Wizard"Cannot Install this HardwareThere was a problem installing this hardrareUSB Gaming Keyboard ProAn error occured during the installation of the device:The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was writen for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendorClick Finish to close the wizard"Now, I may be missing something, but this is Windows XP, not Windows 3.1, so i'd guess that the drivers were intended to be written for Windows 95 or later??I have compared the INF file on the install disk with the one on my computer, and they are exactly the same??I have contacted Saitek, who couldn't suggest anything and emailed me the drivers (The same ones I have on the disk), so that was uselessThe keyboard worked fine for a while and then just decided not to work??Any ideas? Thanks! Re: Saitek Keyboard install problem. by Anonymous Ghost on May 02nd, 2006 05:44:02 AM Saitek actually has a fix for this on their website.. if you go there, and look in the Drivers section.. you'll find "Gamers Keyboard". Click on that link, and the "FAQ" link next to "Gamers keyboard". Follow the dirrections on that page. |
