| missing start up task bar and menu icons | Configuration: |
when i start xp pro, i can log on but all i get after that is the background wallpaper. The start bar is missing and all the program shortcuts.
I have started the task manager and no programs are running, but if i try to start a new task, the machine locks up and i have to reboot.
I can get into the system via safe mode. I have tried the suggestions on the forum about this problem, but no luck.
I would welcome your help

I reinstalled Windows 98SE and on boot up allthe items in the task bar disappeared. They had always been there prior to my reinstalling Windows 98SE. Would appreciate any and all help. |

I have Windwos XP. Ok, I got this problem with my start up and all my icons. I was surfing on the Internet and suddenly everything starts looking like windows 98. It automatically turns off. Then i Turned it on and all my icons and start up menu is gone. What do i do? My email is Omar9010@aol.com |

when I turn my computer on all I see is the wallpaper there are no icons and no start up bar. I cant re-boot in safe mode. can you help |

Right click on the desktop, select 'Arrange Icons By', click 'Show Desktop Icons'. |
