Direct3D not workingConfiguration:
Ok I got Sims 2 around xmas, and it was working fine until i got a virus that screwed up my computer. I sent it to the local computer guy, who did a wonderful job of fixing it, except when i reinstalled sims2 it says that the DirectX thing isn't working. When i went to the diagnostics tool, it said Direct3D functionality unavailable, you should verify that the driver is a final version from the manufacturer, how do i fix this??????P.S. i apoligize in advance for my lack of computer smarts Operating System : Windows XP

I suspect one or two causes for your error message dealing with SIMS2 [for those who are not familiar with Games, SIMS2 is a Multimedia Game software] :A. Problem with your video card DriverB. Windows DirectX software related issues. If you can do it yourself , try downloading and Installing the latestWinXP Home Driver for your Video Card [=Display adapter=Graphic card] from the vendor of that hardware. If you need help here , please provide us the EXACT MAKE & MODEL of your Video Card.B. Update your Windows Direct X software from Windows Update site or directly downloading it from here:DirectX 9.0cIf you need additional help , please post back with details.M
