Outlook 2002 troubleshootConfiguration:
Just recently my outlook Send/receive has sprung a leak. My wife was trying to send out some pics last night when it started. Now, when checking emails, I get copies of incoming messages and the outgoing never stops. At one point it was up to 592 tasks! Cancelling tasks doesn't help. I tried to used the detect and repair help option but it only tries to re-install XP Frontpage. I went to uninstall for win xp and attempted to repair it that was unsuccessful. Should I completely uninstall/reinstall the XP? If so, what will I lose? See actual message below. My ISP told me to call IBM but they're lost. Thanks in advance....Task 'mail.charter.net - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC6D) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 552 #5.3.4 message size exceeds limit'Caryhey Operating System : Windows XP

>>The server responded: 552 #5.3.4 message size exceeds limit'Looks like you have a message in your outbox that your ISP's mail server won't accept. Outlook keeps trying to resend, ISP keeps rejecting, Outlook keeps trying to resend....you get the picture. Try removing the stuck message from the outbox or sent items folder and see what happens.

I'm guessing the attachments were quite large. If the email is still in your Outbox, do what jimminy suggests, delete it, but first make sure you're offline. If it's not, then that means the message has already been queued on the server and there's nothing you can do about it. You could try contacting your ISP and ask them to remove it from the queue, and that should take care of the problem.Soylent Green is PEOPLE!

Trying to send short email to multiple contacts in Distribution List I get this error message. My ISP says I have no limit to number of messages I can send.

Task 'pophm.sympatico.ca - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC6D) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 552 5.3.4 Requested action aborted; number of recipients or message quota reached'

Thanks for your help.

Getting duplicate copy of emails, unstoppable outgoing emails looks like a mailbox corruption issue. In exchange this happens when a server side rule not visible from client goes corrupted, usually I recreate the mailbox for the user whc deletes all corrupted emails. I would suggest you to ask the isp to recreate your profile. Hope it works
