MEDION Motherboards by maadhurimn5 on July 05th, 2005 09:00:32 PM Try Amazon.com. I have seen other Medion MoBOs but not with the same markings you have posted and the advertized Prices quite high. If I see that kind of price, I would rather buy a different MoB for the processor and the case and buy my own WinXP Home or Pro CD instead of using their Proprietary Recovery Discs on a very hard to find pricy MoBo.-:)M |

MEDION Motherboards by maadhurimn5 on July 05th, 2005 09:38:05 PM hiho,Fantastic! You tracked down the MoBO manufacturer's name:-). But, most OEM boards manufactured by a Company will not be released for sale directly to the public; only through the Manufacturer of the PC (in this case Medion) and hence the price hike :-Thank you for your post.M |
MEDION Motherboards by barrowhill5 on July 06th, 2005 11:50:33 PM Thanks for all your replys. Hiho: now I know medion get supplied from MSI! Looks like a new mobo. Medion Tech Support don't answer the phone nor replay to e-mails. Pain really. Have HDD with XP home fully updated plus all my other programs. Sensible enough to have image copy (month old) on seperate HDD and all to avail. With new, non compatible mobo, system won't boot. As only have OEM recovery disc, will have do do repair install to preserve installed programs but then have to update with SP1 + SP2 + subsequent hotfixes. Ah well!! |
MEDION Motherboards by maadhurimn5 on July 07th, 2005 02:45:33 AM "Tech Support" is a misnomer in most cases . That is why Volunteer -assisted self-support sites hosted by Forums like this help more people with PC problems than the PC vendors' IT departments. I am sorry you had to buy new hardware. But you are better off with PC's built by yourself or someone you know than buying "inexpensive" Brand Name commercial PCs with highly proprietary components that are often hard to replace in the severely modified cases they sell.Good luck in your efforts.M |
