DHCP server with 2 NIC - teaming - BAD ADDRESSesConfiguration:
I have installed Win server 2003 enterprise edition as a DHCP server to serve over 10,000 user distributed on 25 locations. for performace issues i added the 2nd NIC with HP teaming software with balancing with fault-tolerance option based on IP address.
My questions:
1- adding 2nd NIC is not going to cause any future problems and will increase my server performance YES?
2- during migration of the user I got several BAD Address in dhcp .. why? remember that users are coming to this server from different small networks with their own routers using ip helper.
3- if i would like to change the ip helper to a.b.c.255 so later i can add additional dhcp server without the need to change all the remote routers ip helpers ... is a good idea?
4- i tried to use two address of different dhcp server for backup reasons ... so i placed two line of ip helpers in every router: ip helper- address a1.b1.c1.255
ip helper-address a2.b2.c2.255
has anyone done this before ... id it a good solution or there is better???
