| XP Home automatically quitting | Configuration: |
|
I have a Dell Dimension 4550 running Win XP Home [SP1] that developed a problem yesterday. It starts-up, displays the desktop background but then automatically says \\\"saving settings\\\" and prompts for restart or shutdown. Booting in safe mode also does this. What should i do?

Re: XP Home automatically quitting by Anonymous Ghost on December 01st, 2004 05:41:54 PM does it loop? basically if you turn it on it will continually restart? until you overide it by holding down the power key? |
Re: XP Home automatically quitting by Anonymous Ghost on January 06th, 2005 05:03:19 PM I've got this prob too. Tried reinstalling XP but the setup program persistently hangs :-( I think its got something to so with spyware removing programmes (eg AdAware, Spybot etc.) Spyware sucks but these "programs" suck more. I recommend you wipe your HDD and start from scratch. |
