| so slow .everything | Configuration: |
when pc starts my home page takes about 30 minutes to load the programs onto it.internet takes forever to load and has added res://widows/system32\\shdoclc.dll.htm .and sits on this for about 10 minutes before it lets the internet connect i dont know where it came from and have deleted it but doesnt work.it comes back.i have done and tried so much but i cant figure out why everything ids so slow..im running a dell pentium..xp..i recently downloaded firefox web browser and it runs very fast it shocked me how fast it was even on dial up..but internet explorer just takes so long to load..any help would be appreciated..thanks so much,,,steve
Additional Comments: if more info is needed i can try to give more..im not the greatest with these pcs

Re: so slow .everything by Anonymous Ghost on April 25th, 2006 10:52:11 PM The location of shdoclc.dll is OK and it is a system file that should exist there.
You seem to be infected with lot of spyware.
Download Spybot and Hijack This. Install/ Run them. Fix the spyware/problems they find and use their 'immunize' command to protect against common spywares.
On a side note: firefox is faster than internet explorer. you should probably switch to it. |
