can't boot in xp in dual boot systemConfiguration:
I have 4 parttitions on single 40 gb hdd. C drive has win98 se and D drive has xp. In win98 I have avast antivirus installed. Two days ago I installed "antivir" on xp.

I scanned my pc through both the antivirus softwares.

Found malwares by both softwares, took recommended actions.

Today I found that I can boot in 98 but can't boot in xp.

I am asked to press ctrl-altr-del (normal way, i have configured it that way) then the password.

Logging in screen displayed and immediately and automatically logged out.

I tried all boot options like safe mode etc. but same problem every time.

Is it because 98 antivirus has disabled any system file in xp or due to any virus ?

Now i can't boot in xp. But scanned the pc through 98 and no malware found.

What is the solution other than reinstalling xp ?

I tried to avail "last known good configuration boot option" but of no use.

Please comment.
