windows xp task managerConfiguration:
When i start the task manager i dont see the Application, Processes, and Peformance tabs. I dont see file, view, options, ect??
can someone tell me how to get those tabs back??
Operating System : Windows XP
RAM : 256

Running windows XP task manager. Task manager pops open then quickly disapears before I can look at it.
Whats going on?

FINALLY!!! I just figured out with is causing this annoying issue!!! Its a virus!!! The virus is located in the SYSTEM32 folder in the Windows folder. Run a scan with an antivirus in that folder to see if it picks anything up. I used Norton. If you don't have an antivirus then just search in that folder (SYSTEM32) to see if you find 2 svchost.exe files, if you do, one of these is the virus. You should only have one of these in that folder. Get an antivirus somehow, and run a scan, cuz you definately have the same problem I did. how do i distinguish between legitimate and illegitimate processes in the 'processes' tab of the task manager. I now have an average of 40 running. I want to know which ones i can switch off without do damage. Please help.

whn i want to open windows task manager it says that it has been disabled by the administartor and I am the administartor

I keep having too many processes. Esp. for my internet. & I can only get connected under 1 user name online. Help, please. I delete the extras & they keep coming back

WHat the HELL is going on? This is the problem. Main PC is a dual boot system with dual XP Pro OS's on it. The wireless laptop also has XP Pro on it. svchost.exe pops us at various times on each system! I use Ad Aware SE Pro to clean the systems and still svchost.exe pops up.PLEASE HELP ME GET RID OF THIS CRAP. PLEASE
