Disk Defragmenter not workingConfiguration:
When I run my disk defragmenter, and "show details" it is only a white screen, without the colored boxes for files. It shows 1% complete but never does anything else. I know what to do with slow defrag but the white screen is definitely something wrong. What do I do? Operating System : Windows 98 Second Edition
CPU/Processor : Intel Celeron 300 MHz
RAM : HP Pavilion 6730 Actual:64 MB
Monitor : Pavilion M50 15"
Sound Card : Crystal Audio Codec
CD Drive : HP CDRW 9100
Keyboard : HP 5129
Printer : HP PSC 1210v
Scanner : HP PSC 1210v
Additional Comments : ACPI Bios Standard

try leaving it for a few hours as it is with/without click the 'show details' button and see if the defrag is happening.

My machine similar, later model with more power, RAM. Hanging problems; reinstalled Windows first time, downloaded and ran Golden Bow Systems VoptXP the 2nd time. Now works fine. My sympathies!
