windows 2000 explorer (not ie) and desktop very slowConfiguration:
hi - HAPPY NEW YEAR! - i have w2000 and when i access or move or create an item on my desktop it is VERY SLOW - creating a folder - renaming folder or file, etc - i also noticed that my explorer is very slow (not internet explorer) - also , it recently lost it's file options (it used to have file, view, etc at the top) - the menu options are gone all i have is the contents of the filer that i open so i can not longer pick view by details, etc. - can you point me in the right direction to fix these - they did not happen at the same time - desktop has been slow for a very long time - maybe since in installed windows - i am not sure they are related challenges - when i say slow to access items or rename them it takes sometimes almost 30 seconds to rename something if it is not a very short name - even a short name take too long Operating System : microsoft w2000
