| earasing and installing windows 98 | Configuration: |

I have a laptop that starts up but gets stuck on scan disk and then surface scan forever. It just goes on for hours, and Windows does not start up. Can someone please walk me through the steps of erasing my entire hard drive and operating system using 'f-disk', and then re-installing windows 98? I would highly appreciate it. Thank you.

I know how but it's because I've had to do it a dozen times or more in the past 3 weeks. It seems that's the only thing Gateway Tech Support knows how to do, even when you don't need to and it doesn't help. It's quite a bit to have to type out though, you really need someone that can talk you through it to a certain point and then you just follow the instructions on the screen to re-install. |
