If you install Win98 first and then try to install WinXP you will automatically get option for being able to use both operating systems with dual boot :)

how do i get my computer to recognize the operating system cd
Operating system installation by great_kahn on October 21st, 2004 05:58:55 PM
I have an harddisk with 2 partitions.

C: and D: (both FAT32)

I first installed winME as always but not to C:, this time D:

Then as FAT32 doesn't allow >4GB files, I required winXP for video editing and installed XP to C: in NTFS but this time with ntfs format!

Then I lost WinME boot!!! (although files belonging her are still protected in D: )

At first I thought I can bypass it by copying io.sys and command.com from winme's EBD folder and setting XP boot setup.

I copied them from EBD.
Put the line : (D:\="Windows ME") to boot setup.

But not avail, when I tried to boot me in the boot menu, my computer restarts.

I believe there is something I forgot to do... I'm not sure may be msdos.sys is also required (but isn't in ebd folder?) or io.sys in the ebd folder can not boot me?

Did anybody know a solution for creating a dual boot except reinstalling? Because the file system I required must be exactly as this and I don't have much time to spend for a new install...
