Po 8i installation on windows XPConfiguration:
Invalid Staging Area. There are no top level components for windows NT available for installing from this staging area Operating System : XP profession
CPU/Processor : p3
RAM : 256
Motherboard : pentium
Hard Disk : 20 GB
Partition Details : 3 partition

when i installed oracle it prompt an error: stopsrc.vrf(78):type mismatch in argument "0" when calling "contains" stopsrvc.vrf(78) "STRING" expected when "LIst" found.

when i am starting sql plus that time i've gor error ---- oracle not started.
so i've to go start-run-svrmgrl everytime?
why this happen. is there any alternative so that oracle automatically start??

When I am installing Oracle 8i on windows xp, I can work with it until I restart the machine after installation/ shut down the machine then again boot it some later time.
I get a message
"Oracle Not Available"
Please suggest me.
