Hi guys – I have 2 problems
First one is
I have installed Oracle 8i in Windows XP Service Pack 1. it is installed in c:\orant directory. the installatin completed succesfully. but when i am tring to login in sql plus using scott/tiger it is givining me error TNS-12203 - TNS:unable to connect to destination
Second problem :
After deleting Oracle8i &
WHILE INSTALLING ORACLE 8,
GETTING MESSAGE "UNABLE TO DELETE SQL *NET V2 LISTENER"
Installation is teminated after this message ,
any help appreciated..

when i installed oracle enterpise adition on windows xp, i got the error oracle not available or tns protocol adapter error. It works first time, after logout when i login in windows xp again then i am getting error |

when u open sql it asks for user name and password.type "internal" in user name and "manager" in password.now the sql will open,now type startup and wait there will be some process going on after that type connect it will ask for username & password.type "scott" in username and "tiger" in password u will aee that database is connected

very same problem. I had checked "Administrative Tools" and "services" and OracleOraHome. Still the same problem persist. Help me out. |

try to login use
user :internal
pass : oracle
then type : startup
press enter
database now is turn on |

1. Copy the CD contents to Hard disk and rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.dll.junk
2. Naming each Oracle disk as disk1, disk2 etc
3. Copying the all three disks under may dirive i.e C:\
4. Manually executing setup.exe from Dos prompt
5. Manually executing Setup.exe under install\win32 directory
After Installing Reboot the system
Go to Dos Prompt
c:\svrmgrl
manager utility will open
svrmgr>connect internal
connected
svrmgr>startup
svrmgr>exit
Congratas! Your are connected with your database check out it in SQL +

Try to start your SID with the command line:
set ORACLE_SID=your_sid
C:\ORANT\bin\oradim -startup -sid your_sid -usrpwd your_internal_password -starttype srvc -pfile "C:\ORANT\admin\your_sid\pfile\inityour_sid.ora"
replace "your_sid" with your real sid |

I INSTALLED ORACLE 8i ON P4 WINXP MACHINE. AFTER INSTALLATION SQL PLUS RAN FIRST TIME BUT AFTER REBOOTING IT GAVE ERROR "ORACLE NOT AVAILABLE"

I have installed D2k From 6 i in win XP OS. When I open Th form builder. To design the form. I am not able to connect To the Oracle Database. I am getting error message as "TNS could not resolve the service name \". Since I am totaly Unaware with D2K. I m not able to sol ve th Problem Please help MeThanks in advance
