rESPECTED SIR. I AM HAVING WINDOW XP PROFESSIONAL EDITION ON MY COMPUTER. I HAVE INSTALLED ORACLE 8i and it was installed properly. i ran some queries on it and and it gave me perfect result but one i restarted the computer it gave me error
01034;- ORACLE NOT AVAILABLE
I do not know what to do

i have successfully installed oracle 8i enterprise edition on my pIII windows xp machine. it worked fine after insatllation. but after i reboot the sys my oracle service doesnt get |

i have successfully installed oracle 8i enterprise edition on my pIII windows xp machine. it worked fine after insatllation. but after i reboot the sys my oracle service doesnt get \"started\". it stays at the status of \"starting\". and then when i type in the username/password--scott/tiger----it says oracle not found. i guess this is a problem with most xp installation.it wud be gr8 if u cud give me a solution as i have an exam in a few weeks. thanks in advance. my email id id>> jesby_jose@hotmail.com |

Plz Help me to fix the following problem.
Problem is
I have installed Oracle and Firewall both on my Pc. when I start oracle and puts my login name and password then click on logon to start but it shows message
ORA-12571 TNS: Packet writer failure. I am doing 95% working through oracle so I contact to my Administrator & Oracle Man to fix this but they could not help me. But later I tried myself and got the solution but it’s not for a long time and I am requesting you for permanent solution. Here I am telling you that how I temporary fix this problem.
I reinstall Firewall client on my Pc even it’s already installed and overwrite and installed it again. After this I login in oracle and its start without showing err message and run easily.
Plz give me permanent solution otherwise i have to daily reistall firewall and this is not solution.
I am sure you will do for me

When I try to install Oracle on my pc (the operating system is win XP SP2), the installation doesn\'t run. Can it depends by the fact that very recently I\'ve installed the ervice pack 2? |
