| cd drive is showing only blank space | Configuration: |

my cd drive is showing only blank space when a cd explored even though the cd had data. This occurred after a smooth running over a period of one and a half year
| Operating System : microsoft windows 98
CPU/Processor : intel pentium IIII
RAM : Actual:256 MB
Motherboard : mercury
Hard Disk : , Space: 40 GB
Partition Details : 10GB for c:, 10GB for d:, 10GB for e:, 5GB for f:, {5 GB for h:(linux)}
Monitor : samsung sync master 17"
CD Drive : samsung CD RW 52 X

The cd drive has picked up some dust. Use a CD Drive Lens cleaner to rectify the problem. |

I have this problem often when using DVD's. Even tho i know theres data on there, and its worked b4 and i've finalized the disk. for me, putting the disk into a non Recording drive works fine. so just a simple DVD-ROM drive. |
