Sometimes when I power it up, the light comes on, the fan comes on, the disks spin, then nothing else happens. There is never any input on the monitor.
Other times the "IBM" logo flashes, the screen goes blank, the logo flashes, the screen goes blank, and so on. This started happening after I had put the computer in Win98's "standby" mode for a couple of hours
