Re: I am at the C Prompt New hard drive can not install by Anonymous Ghost on April 12th, 2004 04:39:39 AM You need to activate the c: at fdisk.
DO you really have 10MB of RAM!!?
WIN98 requires atleast 16MB of Ram.
Use WIN98 Boot floppy, set boot sequence
to Floppy drive at the BIOS.Insert the floppy and wait tillthe second screen arrives i.e(verifying DMI pool data)
you will get WIN98 start up menu.Choose
the option with cdrom support, wait for some time until the A: prompt arrive.
Insert the WIN98 now goto to the cd-rom drivei.e D drive(if you have only one drive i.e c:)now type setup tobegin the installation. |
Re: I am at the C Prompt New hard drive can not install by scorpio on April 15th, 2004 01:55:04 AM To activate/enable the CD drive you will need to use the MSCDEX program. search for the file in google. It is freely available. It is also present in the windows setup disk. You may copy the file into a floppy from a friends computer.
Use MSCDEX /? command to get help on how to use it.
Then use the command with appropriate parameters to enable yourself to use the CD drive. |
