| CDROM problem | Configuration: |
|
I have some data access problem with CD-ROM. Can anybody suggest something? The problem is that I have few CDs which are fully readable with Win98 operating system. But when I load Win2000 or XP in the same machine, some of the folders become unreadable. When I network two machines, one with Win2000 and the other with Win98, and load the CD in the Win98 machine, I can access those folders (mapping CDROM drive of Win98 machine as a network drive in the Win2000 machine) from the Win2000 machine. Please suggest something if you can.

Re: CDROM problem by scorpio on March 02nd, 2004 08:42:52 AM well psaha
it seems like that those files are copyrighted and windows 2000 and xp block the files in their CD rom.
when used with win98 it works fine since win98 doesn't block those and since win98 cd drive isnt the cd drive on the system on which w2k exists, w2k doesnt bother to check anything and shows the files. |

Re: CDROM problem by rrack on June 18th, 2004 06:13:24 PM I've got a 400mhz Pentium II IBM 300PL that all of the sudden stopped reading CDs. Both the internal and the external SCSI CDRW stopped working. In the "my computer" it shows that a music cd is installed but says zero bytes. It does this on both drives. If you click on the drive to open up the contents, it opens up iTunes but nothing appears. What should I try?
Thanks,
Robert |
