| Computer sees keyboard but doesn't work | Configuration: |
My keyboard suddenly stopped working so I uninstalled the device from the divice manager and when the computer restarts it says "I found a new divice do you want me to install it?". I say "Sure, why not." It installs the 'new' keyboard but it still doesn't work. I swapped keyboards with another machine and no diffence. Can any one help?
Thanks

Re: Computer sees keyboard but doesn't work by carpetfishing on April 19th, 2005 06:32:31 PM I thought I could just unplug the nonfunctioning keyboard and plug in the one that worked while the computer was still running. Found out during research, not a good idea #1 for the motherboard or keyboard port and #2 a keyboard isn't like a table lamp. I plugged in the keyboard that works while computer was off and restarted, it works fine now....also found out in the process my daughter 'accidently' spilled water on the one that doesn't work...which explains alot.
thanks for your time |
Re: Computer sees keyboard but doesn't work by carpetfishing on April 19th, 2005 06:43:33 PM I forgot to add. I did explain to daughter that the 3 words 'water','accidently', and 'keyboard' should not be used in the same sentence. |

Good luck. 'coffee','accidently', and 'keyboard' should not be used in the same sentence as well ;) |
