| DVD Decoder software | Configuration: |
Where can I download a good, free, DVD decoder? I have a Creative 16x DVD - ROM drive. This is one of those combi drives that can also play and burn CDs, so the DVD part is a bonus for me. Unfortunately the shop didn't provide the DVD software / decoder for it.
Please, only answer this question if you know that the software is good and spyware free. it's easy to seacrh the internet using keyword and finds dozens of sites offering free DVD software, but I need expert advice.
Thanks in advance

Re: DVD Decoder software by Anonymous Ghost on March 13th, 2005 01:38:28 AM VideoLAN Client or vlc for short is what I discovered a couple of weeks ago. It will play pretty much any audio/video file available even if the file is not complete or is missing parts. It also plays VCDs and DVDs and is available for many OS's. And that's just the start.

Re: DVD Decoder software by Anonymous Ghost on July 18th, 2005 11:01:40 PM DVDshrink decodes most movies and then shrinks them fit 4.7 gig disks. Maintains the quality. It is a free download at DVDshrink. You need a current version of Nero 3 or and upgrade at Ahead Nero for older versions of Nero to make copies. Most new DVD burners come with Nero software.
New encryptions may not be decrypted by DVDshrink.
DVDdecoder is a free download and will decrypt most that DVDshrink does not. The file is saved to your harddrive then using DVDshrink will put the movie on one disk.
Have plenty of memory and a good operating system. DVDdecoder and DVDshrink can be found on Google.
I just set up a friend with her 16X burner so all should work for you. |
Re: DVD Decoder software by Anonymous Ghost on August 12th, 2005 05:26:33 PM I'm having trouble with my laptop's DVD drive. It will play CDs okay, but when I play DVDs, I don't hear any sound. Can you tell me how to fix this problem? |
