Flash Disk confused with Removable Disk Drive by Anonymous Ghost on March 30th, 2005 04:04:20 AM
A little while ago I bought an LG M-Disk, 1GB removable storage device. It seemed ok at first, but after about a week it started turning all files that was on it into encrypted hexidecimal code, that wouldn't change back. I attempted reformatting, but my Microsoft XP put a digital signature on it as FAT32, and now all computers recognise it as a removable disk drive. Every time I try and open it, it prompts me to insert a disk (into the removable drive). I can't reformat, because programing attempts to reformat disks loaded into the drive. I tried the switch on the side thing, but that didn't work either. Please, if anyone has had this problem, let me know if you found a solution!

I have the same problem with you. My usb's label is SunStone, and I can't find its producer to get supports. When I plug it into USB port, I see a login Dialog (I don't remember password). And when i check its volume, it only have about 200KB. I tried formatting it but I can't.
How can I reuse my usb ? Data on it can be lost.
Thanks a lot.
