I have recently reinstalled xp on my laptop and now when I try to connect my external CD/RW drive (via USB) it will not recognise this hardware. Cannot install it therefore.

Re: XP will not detect external CD/RW by i_gretel on December 05th, 2004 12:34:26 PM Thanks for the reply. I have tried the other USB ports but to no avail. Other devices work OK on all ports too. |
Re: XP will not detect external CD/RW by Anonymous Ghost on August 23rd, 2005 09:37:13 AM Could be Universal Plug and Play drivers are corrupted. Go to Device Manager/USB Controlers and uninstall all of them. Then reboot. The correct drivers will be installed to allow your USB peripherals to be recognised. |
