Won't PostConfiguration:
I'm sure hoping someone here can help me. I've been fiddling with this thing forever.
First off, I oughta say that, though I don't mind rummaging around in a computer's guts, I'd consider myself a rank newbie.

I have XP.

The darned thing sometimes would run, sometimes wouldn't even post. Have replaced the power supply and the video card, each of which I thought was the problem.

Finally today I booted up and it seemed to do okay -- at first. I started copying some files to the cd drive and the mouse seemed to lag some, then suddenly froze (it's done this before, when these troubles started). Restarted the computer. Now, again it won't even post.

Man, this is getting old! Can someone please tell me what the heck's going on? Sometimes I can get it to boot up, sometimes it won't even post. Boy, I so hope it's not the CPU or motherboard. Anyway is there a way I can tell for sure? (Something that a rank newbie can do?)
