ADSL2+ Bridge/RouterConfiguration:
To set up a wireless network with
an ADSL2+ Bridge/router supplied by my ISP do I need a wireless router or
just an Access Point?

Additional Comments:
The Tech. people at the ISP say this is
only a DSL modem.
Another Techie I know says all I need is an Access Point? Who is right and
why?
Operating System : Windows XP Home Edition SP 2
CPU/Processor : AMD Althon 1800 MHz
RAM : Actual:448 MB

Are you sure the ISP provided you with ADSL2+ Bridge/router and not just an ADSL modem, in this case you only need an access point, though wireless router will work fine as well.

If it is just a ADSL modem you need a wireless router.

IMO its better investment to buy a wireless router. The wireless router also acts as an access point.

Thanks for the response.
Yes the equipment tag definitely specifies Paradyne ADSL2+ Bridge/Router 110.
I believe I will go with your opinion
and get the wireless router.

how can i connect 2 computers with only 1 modem and this router

I hooked my netgear wireless router WPN824 to the ADSL modem using an ethernet cable and configured it using the included instructions.

Then I added wireless netgear wpn511 pc cards to my 2 laptops setting them
up according to the instructions provided and they work flawlessly.

You need to have TCIP settings from your ISP. A default Gateway address,
a primary DNS, a secondary DNS, a subnet mask and an ipaddress to configure the router.
I was given these by the ISP tech who installed my DSL modem.

I hope this helps.
