| I lost All My Files on the Flash Memory :( | Configuration: |
I really need your help, I lost all my files on my flash memory, I don't know how, all the files that I put in directories are gone, there is nothing left except two or three files which were by it selves without directories, and the problem that in the properties the used space still gives me 200 MB. That means my files still there, I just can't see them, it's a very important files to me, HELP Please.
Additional Comments: Some friends advised me to format the flash memory and forget about my files, but I still have a little hope that you can help me.

Re: I lost All My Files on the Flash Memory :( by Anonymous Ghost on February 27th, 2006 01:05:06 AM There are two possiblities:-
1) The files are there.
2) The files aren't there and the used space shown in incorrect.
For the latter one you can't do much and the used space is showing that way because you took out the USB when it was not safe to take it out. You should always stop the device from the icon in the taskbar tray and then remove the device.
Now the happy portion... well this will happen if the files and folders are hidden and your folder settings do not allow you to see hidden files and folders. To check if this is the case:
1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
2. Click the View tab.
3. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
4. Click OK / Apply.
Note To access Windows Explorer, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
You should now be able to see the hidden files if any. If you can see your files, enjoy...
If you still can't.. well its a bad news.. :( |
Re: I lost All My Files on the Flash Memory :( by leena on February 28th, 2006 01:15:19 AM Thanks for your help, I changed my folder settings to see hidden files but couldn't find anything, some of my friends recommended formating then trying a program called object rescue or another one called Final Data, I'll try and wish me luck :) |
