2yr old Compaq DVD-ROM sticks nowConfiguration:
Yes I have a two year old Compaq computer that I have taken well care of.
Several months ago my DVD-rom just started to stick, o a better
description is grabbing, it never had done this before. You can tell
when you push the button it wants to open up because you can hear it
trying to open, grabs, stops, trys to open again, grabs, stops and
tries again and then stops. And I never used a paperclip to open the
drive or push the tray in with my hand. I ALWAYS used the button,
nothing else. I have to push the button roughly 3 times in a row for
it to open. It also works fine when a disk is in it, one push and it
will open up. Also it seems to open fine without a disk when I use my CD
burning software to make an exact copy of a disk, the software itself
sends a command for it open that it and it does. I don't know what is
going on but if anyone has a idea I would be glad to know it and how
to fix it.
Also, it hasn't moved since I purchased and set it up, nothing has dropped on it.
There is nothing that I can think of that could have caused this for there
hasn't been nothing that has happened to the drive or computer tower.
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

Its because motor inside has become faulty.
It might be cheaper to buy a new one than to get this one repaired.
