boot problemsConfiguration:
I have a 2000 ThinkPad with XP recently installed. Since installation, my laptop has been shutting off randomly (anywhere from 30 secs to 20 mins after startup). Furthermore, once it has turned off, it won\'t turn on again for a while (between 5-30 mins). The only thing that happens is the battery light gives a real quick blink (just one). The battery\'s real old, and it doesn\'t charge, but I\'m always plugged into a socket. Any help would be great. Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP
CPU/Processor : Intel Pentium III
Additional Comments : IBM ThinkPad

I have a 333MHz Pentium II computer. I'm not on it now, I'm currently on my new computer,a 2.8Ghz AMD Athlon Xp... well anyway the old computer, with a lot of important documents on it stopped detecting it's hard drives and cd drives. It done this before, but it used to start dectecting them again if I left it alone for a while. But this time, it won't detect it at all.. I checked all of the cables connecting to each of the peripherals, all are connected. Nothing appears wrong from looking at it.. Please help..
