MONITOR DEAD! PLEASE HELPConfiguration:
My monitor refuses to turn on, the led stays always amber. I haven\\\'t added any hardware of changed anything in the computer - I just moved out to a new house but I handled the computer with care.
When I disconnect the monitor from the case, it DOES display the famous error message but when I reconnect it, it goes to sleep -- PLEASE HELP ME! I need it urgently. Thanx
Operating System : Windows XP
CPU/Processor : P4 1500 MHz

Try connecting the monitor to another PC to ensure the problem is not in the monitor port of your machine.
If monitor works fine, the problem is in the machine, else in the monitor.
Make sure the monitor ports/connectors are connected tightly.

Did you hear any popping sounds before the monitor stoppped completely.

This problem could also be due to a damaged capacitor. Replacing the capacitor with a new one will solve in that case.

best thing is to show it to a monitor company and ask the problem.
you will know if it is a h/e problem.
