Re: Norton Ghost 9.0 by Anonymous Ghost on November 09th, 2004 12:08:28 PM Norton Ghost is as flakey as the folks that created it. FWIW, Ghost wants a freshly formatted partition/drive set as non bootable. It should also be jumpered as a slave (until it is cloned - at which time it should be rejumpered as a master.) You never know if the cable select setting will work or not... Better not to waste the time.
I paid $69 for this albatross only to find that Ghost 2003 was a lot less picky and noticeably faster (although almost as BUGGY.)
Learn from my screw ups: Go pick up a 15 day free trial of ACRONIS TRUEIMAGE 8.0 - and NEVER LOOK BACK at NORTON. |
Re: Norton Ghost 9.0 by Anonymous Ghost on December 18th, 2004 01:05:35 AM I am having similar problems with drive recognition and Norton Help desk is no help either. My machine has two WD 160 GB hard drives and neither of them are available to select from. Yet when I add a usb exter maxtor 160GB hard drive, that drive gets listed on the backup dialog.
Tried twice to get help from symantec, but to no avail (after holding on the phone for an hour each time). They promised an email follow-up, but never did. |
