PC freezes or monitor does not power up.Configuration:
When I boot up if I am lucky it will work for maybe 3 minutes before freezing up. Ctrl alt del does not work. Other times when I boot up the monitor won't even come on. I suspect video card or motherboard, but I tried another card but couldn't get far enough along to install drivers. Can anyone help? Operating System : xp pro
CPU/Processor : intel 1200 MHz
RAM : Actual:512 MB
Hard Disk : , Space: 60 GB
PCI Slots : Total: 4 Free: 2

Guys, I am having the same problem. I am using Windows XP pro on a Athlon 2100+ with 512MB of Ram. Does anybody have a clue about this. I was thinking may be the memory module is the culprit (I re-installed the OS but the issue continues) but i do not have a way to test it. Any help appreciated. Please email me at kvkm@hotmail.com

I have the same problem, the pc freezes up randomly, at anytime. If the power is on, the pc will freeze maybe after a day or maybe after two minutes. It sometimes freezes in the middle of the bios setup, or during windows load, or after windows load, or if booted from a floppy even. the point is, if the power is on, the pc will randomly freeze, mouse/keyboard doesn't respond. Also regularly when I turn the power on, it beeps and continues to boot, but sometimes it won't beep and the monitor won't come on.

Have you tried a different power supply, I had the very same problem and it was cured by buying a new power supply.

I have this problem where I just start my computer up everything loads. Then my PC completely locks up, nothing responds. I turn it off try and turn it back on and the screen doesn't come on but the system does turn on but it doesn't boot up. I leave it for half an hour then its fine, I thought that this was my PSU as I have 2 HDs 2 CD Drives and a GFX card which needs at least a 300W PSU, although I have had my system like it is for a while and this problem only occured a week ago I just recon the PSU is slowly buggering up.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. How did you manage to fix it? Is the change on power supply the proper solution?

I am having the same problem. Wierd thing is that I am dialed into the computer that is locked up using remote desktop (right now). Would that mean anything to any of you (video card, psu, mem)? I hope someone posts a solution.

I'm the one that posted the last message (using remote desktop). I fixed this by doing the following:
1.) I (of course) logged into computer using remote desktop
2.) opening task manager and choose 'shut down' from the menu list
3.) after machine shuts down, i restarted it (I gave it a couple of second of course) and my problem was gone :)

Good luck!

Check all power cables and make sure they are fitted properly.
Replace your bios battery, then you wont get the error message that bios has changed.
