pcmcia cdrom boot prob.Configuration:
I have an IBM tp570 laptop. I am trying to reinstall win 98 using recovery disk but my system won't read my cdrom. I am having problem rebooting my system. I've search high and low for a bootdisk that would support pcmcia card but no luck. Is there a way to make a bootdisk that would recognize my pcmcia cdrom drive? Operating System : microsoft win2k
CPU/Processor : intel pentium IV 2400 MHz
RAM : generic Actual:512 MB Max:2 MB
Motherboard : msi 512MHz
Hard Disk : western digital, Space: 120 GB, RPM:7200

Yes. Download the bootdisk for Windows 98 from BootDisk.com and boot the computer with CD-ROM support when it asks whether you want the CDROM support or not.

I've tried that. Got the bootdisk for win98 OEM for Bootdisk.com and still can't recognize my pcmcia cdrom.

Try this:
After booting from boot disk. type
MSCDEX
it should display its help info.
then use the command with appropriate parameters to enable your cd rom.

if you do not have mscdex in your boot disk. use any friends pc and copy that file onto your disk.
