I have exactly the same problem. Only a USB keyboard works. BIOS Setup works just fine. a few seconds after the XP screen appears the keyboard is locked. Tried to un-install/re-install keyboard driver. No sucess.

I have a Toshiba Tecra S1. I spilled a bit of liquid on the lower left keyboard accidentally. The computer now reports that the "control" key is being held down. How do I go about "unsticking" that particular key.

I have the exact same problem as the post above say. I was already having a problem on my pc where it randomly re-started. To remedy this, microsoft recommended i uninstall any hardware that i had recently installed. I had indeed recently purchased a new arianetstyle wireless keyboard and mouse. Anyway, i uninstalled them (and would re-install older keyboard and ouse) to see if this would stop the pc from randomly re-starting, but just afterwards the pc re-started randomly!

So - i now have no keyboard or mouse driver actually installed. This is where my problem mirrors the ones ppl have been having above. Either the new wireless or the old keyboard both work when the pc is starting up, but as soon as it reaches the windows login screen the keyboard freezes and i cannot type anything in - i know this because if i tap the num lock button for eg the light stays on. The mouse is fine - both the old and new one.

PLEAS PLEASE PLEASE someone help me, i am at college and i have reams and reams upon reams of work on my account. i don't want to have to lose ANY of it.

thanks.
