i lost the start up discConfiguration:
I lost my widows 98 start up disk and i need to add a printer could some one send it to me please. thanx Operating System : Windows 98 second edition

You need a windows setup disk (cd which contains the installation of Windows) and not a start up disk.

start up disk is used to boot a computer :)

my buddy resantly gave me his old laptop (notebook)and when i try to start it it says invalid system disc? can somebuddy PLEASE help me i am computer stupid.

Try going to http://www.bootdisk.com/ they have a wide selection of startup disks for different OS's

Check to see if you have a floppy disc in or a cd in the CD drive.....

And also someone mention earlier the difference in startup discs and a setup discs.
He was correct setup disc for the os is what you need not a startup disc (emergency boot disc)
