"Winlogon.exe - Application Error"Configuration:
The problem I’ve got here is that every time I attempt to log in, an error window appears:

SAS window – winlogon.exe – application error

The instruction at “0x……” reference memory at “0x……” could not be written

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

Regardless of which button I click on, the computer keeps rebooting again and again.

I’ve tried logging in through safe-mode, but with the same results.

I’ve also tried repair-installing windows XP, but I keep getting an error, something along the lines of:

There was an error in copying the file “rdpwd.sys”

After the installation, the winlogon.exe problem is still there

I’ve also tried using this hard drive as a slave drive on another computer, but the problem is all the information and data I need is under a password protected user, which means I cannot access it.

I’ve really run out of ideas of fixing this problem, and desperately need to get the information from this computer. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
